A Towbes Group Retirement Community in Santa Maria, California. Borden Interiors was involved on this project from the beginning and truly loved creating a space for people wanting a casual and comfortable retirement life.
This beach condo was a complete renovation from floor to ceiling. With million-dollar views, this house had not been updated since the 1960's. Our client purchased this condo as a vacation home and wanted it to be comfy, cozy, and beachy (without being cheesy, of course). With three layers of tile to demo, kitchen and bathrooms to gut, we had our work cut out for us. We chose wide plank oak floors throughout the space, painted the interior with neutrals and hints of blue. The decor consists of neutrals with pops of blue. Our client could not have been happier with the space and now this condo is the gem of the complex that sets the bar for future renovations.
A destination for tourists and locals alike, Bacara Resort and Spa is a luxurious hotel that has an amazing wine selection. For the Wine Bar, our client wanted the guests to feel comfortable and surrounded by the feel of being at a vineyard. Re-purposed wine barrels are used as bar height tables with copper tops. The custom bar was made with the Foley Food and Wine Society logo, we loved incorporating their branding in a fun and creative way. The rich feel of all the warm colors and rustic touches are sure to bring guests back for more.
The Siena Apartment complex was a fun job to work on. Working on this project from the ground up we were able to get a feel for what the space and location called for. Being located in a more country setting we felt that a rustic feel with horses and fall colors were necessary. As an apartment complex the clubhouse had to be multi-functional, custom tables and modular seating were added to serve that purpose. This project has received positive comments from both management and tenants alike.
A long-time client in Hope Ranch wanted help updated her existing guest rooms. Freshening the look with new paint, carpet, custom headboards, bedding, lighting and accessories made all the difference.
As part of our variety of services we provide staging. Staging helps the buyers and renters envisions a livable, workable and beautiful space. Being involved in the space planing and the over all design concept to help reflect the living community. With bold pops of color and fun furniture we are able to bring life to the various spaces.

This kitchen was CRAZY cramped and so much valuable space was not being utilized. Soffit’s for no reason, and barely 32” from counter to counter.
After
By demolishing the existing layout we were able to gain so much functional space for our client. Now our client has 44” from cabinet to cabinet and a seamless counter top for optimal efficiency.

By changing the cabinets, flooring, paint, lighting plan and partially opening up the left side for a peninsula we created a much more bright and functional space.
We added new cabinetry and counter tops as well as selecting a back splash appropriate for the perfect ranch style home. The stove and microwave were moved to another wall making this kitchen more efficient.

This beach condo was a complete renovation!
We removed the upper wall in the kitchen to allow more light into the space. By introducing new cabinets, flooring and counter tops we had created a whole new look and the beachy style that our client wanted was achieved.

This dark staircase was in need of a revamp. By removing the brick and adding vertical shiplap, paint and a new chandelier, this space was transformed.
We love this new stairway. Its bright, light and fresh making it a beautiful walkway to the upstairs of the condo.
This fireplace was plain and boring, we wanted to draw more attention to the height of the ceilings. By adding stacked stone, paint and wallpaper to the backs of the bookcases the fireplace has become the focal point of this living room.
What a transformation. We loved adding the clean white sofas and vibrant colors to create a warm and inviting space for our client to enjoy for years to come.
This bathroom was in need of a renovation…badly. We removed three layers of wallpaper and gutted the entire space. A new walk in shower was installed, we carried the tile up to the ceiling with a decorative border to give this shower some pizzazz!
Now our client has a modern, beach style guest bathroom.
Our client now has a colorful and tranquil family room.
This family room had great bones to start. We added a teal grass cloth wallpaper, furniture and accessories to liven up the space.
A new, redesigned kitchen provides for a more inviting and efficient space for this large family, everyone knows the kitchen is the heart of the home!
Dated, cluttered and dirty were our thoughts on this kitchen, and it was in need of a major overhaul. We changed the layout completely, added an island, installed more cabinetry and functional lighting. The modernized amenities and better use of space brought this kitchen up to date.
